How do I pay my child's school fees?
Sign in, open Payments → Tuition, choose your child's school and enter their admission number. You will see the bill for the current term. Choose how to pay and confirm.
Can I pay school fees online?
Yes, if your child's school uses Penney. You can pay by card, by bank transfer to the school's dedicated account number, or from your Penney account. Any charges are shown before you confirm.
How do I know my payment was successful?
Penney shows the payment as successful and gives you a receipt. The payment also appears in your Transactions and is recorded against your child's bill, so the school can see it too.
Will I get a receipt?
Yes. Every successful payment has a receipt you can download, print or share by WhatsApp or email. You can also open a term receipt that lists all the payments made against your child's bill.
What happens if my payment fails?
A failed payment does not reach the school and you should not be charged. If you were debited, the amount is reversed once our payment partner confirms the failure. See Refunds & Disputes.
I was charged, but the school says it has not received my payment.
Open Transactions → Refresh and check the payment again. If it is successful, share the receipt with the school — it has the reference they need. If it is still pending or failed, contact us with the transaction reference and we will trace it with our partner.
How do refunds work?
Refunds of school fees are decided by the school under its own fee policy, so please ask the school first. If the school approves a refund, we can help process it. Failed or duplicate payments are reversed once confirmed. Full details are in our Refunds & Disputes Policy.
Can I see my payment history?
Yes. Transactions → Transaction History lists every payment you have made, with its status and receipt.

How does Penney help schools?
Penney gives your bursary one place to bill students by term, let parents pay online, see who has paid and who still owes, and follow collections through to settlement in your bank account.
How do we create tuition bills?
Add a bill for each student under My Students → Add Student Bill, with the student's admission number, name, class and the amount due. You can see and edit your bills under Student Bills.
Can we manage different academic terms?
Yes. Set your current session and term under Academic Period. Bills, payments and the financial summary are tracked for that period.
Can we track outstanding payments?
Yes. Each student bill shows the amount paid and the balance, and the Debtors List shows students with outstanding fees.
How does reconciliation work?
Every payment made through Penney is recorded against a specific student bill with its own reference and receipt, whichever way the parent paid. The Financial Summary shows what was collected for the term, and Settlement History shows what was paid to your bank account, when, and which account it went to — so you can match both against your bank statement.
How are collections settled?
Fees collected for your school are paid out to your designated settlement bank account on the next day's settlement run. Your dashboard shows what is due in the next settlement. Settlement can be delayed by bank processing times, public holidays, or an incomplete settlement account, so please keep your account details up to date.
Coming soon: instant settlement, so successful tuition payments reach your account faster. We will let schools know when it is available.
Can Penney integrate with our existing school system?
Penney works alongside your existing school system: you keep your records there and set up student bills on Penney for fee collection. If you would like to connect the two, contact us to discuss what is possible for your school.
What happens when a parent's payment fails?
A failed payment is not recorded against the student's bill and is not included in your settlement. The parent can try again. If the parent was debited, the amount is reversed to them once our partner confirms the failure.
Who handles payment disputes?
Penney handles problems with how a payment was processed — failures, duplicates and missing payments — working with our payment partners. Questions about fee amounts, what fees cover, and whether a fee is refundable are for the school to decide.
